Edublogs versus Blogspot
Having honed my blogging skills on Blogspot I just don’t really like Edublogs. I can’t seem to get the same aesthetically pleasing look to it and, as I have said before I am a visual learner. Perhaps it is the same as the Mac v PC argument although I know Mac’s are much better!
But I know that I will have to get used to using the PC’s at Dunoon and who knows I may get to like them. I am though rather fond of Beebots and will make use of them in my ICT integration next session. I have ordered some Beebot resources with the school’s supply of Tesco vouchers. Sparklebox is again an excellent source of Beebot mat pictures and I will get the children to create their own.
I have a new Teddy which the children called Fudge…….I feel a different name coming on CT for short ( computer ted!!!).
Anyway , another teddy project could be arranged. I am also thinking about an e-beam for the wall where you can see the whiteboard. This would free up the Promethean board to be used elswhere??
So many possibilities!
All change….another new challenge!
Next session I will not be class committed but doing ICT support in the school. I shall be covering McCrone in the infants integrating ICT across the curriculum. As such the ICT suite which also houses the infant and upper school libraries will become my base.
I have spent the first few days of my holidays moving the infant library into the adjacent classroom and setting up the ‘digital technology’ room. The walls are now covered in milskin and all my kit has got a new home. I hope that the new PC desktops are put in during the holidays so that I can get cracking with them as soon as we are back.
The details of how it will all work are still to be worked out so watch this space. I have been fiddling about with flickr again so hopefully you will see photos of my new classroom below.
