Testing Promethean tutorial
Have spent some time this evening on the free online tutorial for Level 1 of Promethean Activprimary. No real difficulties as I had already tried out most of the features so far. The biggest drawback is that my version is slightly different from the one the tutorial uses ( how quickly things are changed). When it comes to the assessments I therefore make the occasional error due to the difference in the look of a button or its function. It is also designed with PC users in mind, right clicking instructions , so perhaps the interface is also different on a PC. Hope to finish the tutorials tomorrow.

Hi Morag
Yes, the interface is different for a PC. A bit annoying, I find, as I am a novice myself!

Why not get in touch with Promethean and see if they have any plans for Mac tutorials? The similarities outnumber the differences though, surely?

It really does look quite different Andrew, not so bad for me who has used the Mac version for a while , but a novice would be somewhat bamboozled.

Hi Morag
I’ve made a really simple introduction guide to ACTIVprimary for mac version as I’ve been using it a lot of the past year. I have used the notes at training in Inverary when introducing it to other pre-five staff. It really just explains all the tools etc, too basic for the stage you are at but if you want a copy for using with other staff that are just strating out let me know and I will send you a copy. I think once you get past the basics the differences are not so noticeable but I have to say I prefer the mac version, I just think it looks more child friendly.

I think that would be really useful. Catherine. The basics are just what are required for some of our staff. So , Of you’d send a copy this way, I’d appreciate.
